Here We Go Again

You probably noticed that my counter on the side says it is complete, but little do you know, we have just begun! I guess I should make a count down till its over. If you know us at all, you know I am talking about HUNTING! It actually began September 1st with the dove hunt which was a little more exciting this year due to the great location of our home. But Braden gets a little more serious when duck hunting starts. So far, he has done pretty good, he has managed to go out 6 of 8 days(no hunting on Sundays). He also was pretty excited when on the second day of the hunt they all limited on geese. However, he was pretty jealous when his dad was the one who had shot the band! If I were to ask him, I could give you bird counts, but I can't quite keep up with those. So, even though sometimes it seems like our lives revolve around the birds, the dog, the hunt, the calls, and the decoys, I am very glad that Braden has the opportunity to enjoy this hobby. I love to see how excited he gets when he gives me the report and shows me the pictures. And even though I don't enjoy going out and actually doing any part of the hunting it is fun to see the different pictures, types of ducks and hearing the stories.

This is in our back yard, they actually sat in lawn chairs with their drinks and would jump up when the doves flew over.

Don't let those grim faces fool you, they were having a great time!

We appreciate you letting him go (when it's with me), but you're way too nice. How am I ever going to keep up with his duck count if you let him go out that often? ;)
